Dr. Grace Mooken is the latest addition to OBGYNPA at Medical City in Suite D550. Her areas of interest are wide and range from abnormal Paps, complicated obstetric patients, and menopausal transition. After completing an OBGYN residency at UT Southwestern, she went on to complete a 1 year fellowship in minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Mooken offers minimally invasive treatment options to patients when possible.
Why I went into OBGYN
When I was 20 years old, I volunteered at a missionary hospital in southern India. I shadowed in various parts of the hospital and saw the rare uncut side of healthcare: no shiny floors or wall hangings; there was not even air conditioning. I volunteered at the Labor and Delivery unit and immediately knew I was where I belonged. The detailed monitoring, the intense deliveries, the new lives, and the amazing energy they brought with them–it was an instant bond that I knew would be lifelong. I entered medical school the following year with a clear focus and goal of becoming an OBGYN one day.
Fast forward to present day, above all I enjoy caring for women throughout the stages of their lives: from teen to golden years and everything in between! Getting older is a gift that the blessed get to enjoy, and I try to live a grateful life everyday. I am a “people person” and consider myself pretty approachable with any and all health concerns. I am so honored to spend my days not only bringing life into the world (woo hoo!) but also to help women with my knowledge and experience in the office! In my free time, I enjoy relaxing with my awesome husband and traveling to see my very large extended family spread across the globe!
